Kimberly Mullen

Founder

Kimberly Mullen brings a wealth of expertise to her role as founder of Nellum Global. Ms. Mullen's specialization revolves around business, international affairs, society and emerging technologies. She is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in creating, advising, supporting, managing, and strategizing with various stakeholders, ranging from founders and board members to c-suite executives, management teams, and organizations across different sectors, including the world's largest hedge fund, multinational finance, technology and media firms, and nonprofits. Her extensive experience, coupled with her determination, dedication to excellence, and multifaceted interests, make her an invaluable asset and trusted partner in understanding and developing innovative solutions in today's dynamic landscape.

Ms. Mullen earned a Master of Science in Global Affairs from New York University, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, with minors in Political Science and Psychology, from The Ohio State University. Additionally, she completed a research fellowship with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and executive coursework at MIT on artificial intelligence and business strategy. She was a five-year Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations.

Ms. Mullen's dedication to growth, contributing to society, and knowledge acquisition extends beyond formal education. Ms. Mullen currently serves on nonprofits within her community. Previously, she volunteered while living in a remote village in Madagascar with a British NGO performing marine conservation work. She was a New York State certified volunteer crisis counselor and advisory board member in a New York City hospital advocating for victims of rape, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence. She also served on various committees and leadership roles in Junior League. Throughout her career, she conducted research at all levels worldwide countering human trafficking.

She was as an international model, having worked in the United States and Europe for various high-profile magazines, beauty products, car companies, and commercial and film directors such as L’Oreal, W Magazine, and Oliver Stone. She also competed on CBS's Survivor and represented Ohio at Miss USA.

Ms. Mullen is a writer and poet. She twice participated in writing conferences at Yale University, a weekly writing workshop with Westport Writers’, and a two-week writing residency at Chateau Orquevaux in France that was generously bolstered by a Denis Diderot grant. She’s published a collection of her poetry collection, The Human Experience: A Woman’s View (2022).

Outside of her professional achievements and in her spare time, Ms. Mullen enjoys being with family and friends, traveling (to over thirty countries), tennis, skiing, strength training, and running, including completing multiple half-marathons and a marathon, painting, sculpting, and scuba diving. Her passion for exploration extends not only to Earth’s plentiful mountains and oceans, but into outer space, as she’s particularly interested in the possible role that humanoid robots may play in exploring the cosmos.

Ms. Mullen lives with her family and their extra-large Bernese Mountain Dog.
